First time hosting hibachi at home? Here is what the night actually looks like, so nothing catches you off guard.
Before the chef arrives
- Clear a flat 10 × 10 foot spot with a level path to it.
- Set seating in a U around where the grill will go — or add our tables and chairs.
- Pick a covered spot if the forecast is iffy. Your chef cooks rain or shine — plan a covered spot like a patio, garage, carport or tent.
Arrival and setup (about 30 minutes)
Your chef rolls in the grill and gear, fires up the propane and preps the station. Guests can mingle — setup is quick.
Showtime
The chef calls everyone to the grill. Expect flames, flipping, catching food in mid-air, and a lot of phones out. The chef plays to the crowd — especially the guest of honor.
Dinner
Fried rice and vegetables first, then each guest's two proteins, cooked in rounds and served hot off the grill with yum yum sauce.
Wrap up
After dinner the host pays the balance and tips. The chef packs up the grill. Most parties keep going with dessert and drinks.
Allergies
Tell us about allergies when you book. Allergy plates are cooked first on a clean surface. Our sauces contain soy.
